Deep Massage: 36 hrs
Learn Lauterstein–Conway’s unique approach to myofascial therapy. Help clients release tension and the effects of injury quickly and thoroughly with 50 deep massage techniques. Deep Massage uses myofascial release, trigger points, and soft tissue fulcrums to address both the tension being held in the muscular, fascial and neurological systems.
Advanced Anatomy, Kinesiology, and Pathology: Hours interwoven with Deep, Structural and Clinical
Increase your knowledge and palpation skills for the origins and insertions of the muscles. Understand each layer the muscles live on and what effects they have on movement and posture. Explore the kinesiology relevant to everyday activities and various sports, Deepen your knowledge of indications and contraindications for massage and the advanced modalities you will be learning.
Structural Bodywork: 30 hrs
Learn how to identify postural causes of chronic pain and tension. Observe posture, proportion, tension patterns, and gait imbalance. Apply techniques to remedy misalignments, movement imbalances and the pain, tension and injuries arising from postural distortions.
Clinical Massage Therapy: 30 hrs
Using deep massage and circulatory techniques alleviate the major clinical complaints, such as - low back pain, sciatica, hamstring pulls, rotator cuff issues, shoulder pain, neck pain and headaches. Techniques will include intermediate and advanced deep massage, cross-fiber work, active movement therapy and trigger points.
Zero Balancing I and II: 50 hrs
Zero Balancing is an innovative body-mind system of hands-on therapy developed by Fritz Smith, MD, a pioneer in the field of integrative medicine. Zero Balancing I and II constitute the 50 hour Core Zero Balancing Training (half of the course work required for ZB Certification).Learn how the body's anatomy is related to energy movement in the skin, muscles, ligaments and bones. Come away with 25 powerful advanced techniques, Zero Balancing fulcrums for the ankles and feet, hips, pelvis, lower back, ribs, mid and upper back, neck, shoulder girdle, arms, neck and head designed to further your practice.
The Psychology of Bodywork:20 hrs
To be a successful advanced therapist calls for personal growth as well as enhanced technical skill. Self-growth is a component of this advanced training. Learn how to be more fully present with yourself and your client and understand their psychologically-based issues. This will help you relate more knowledgeably and compassionately to yourself and your clients.
Shiatsu: 36 hrs
With the growing interest in acupuncture, acupressure and shiastu, now is the time to expand the modalities you offer clients. Learn the theory of Asian bodywork: yin/yang, the five elements, the meridians, and key acupressure points. Study shiatsu routines for prone, supine, side-lying and seated Shiatsu work and learn how to integrate it with your other modalities.
Integrative/Energetic Bodywork: 32 hrs
Learn effective techniques to address the psychological as well as physical dimensions of the person. Each body part holds psychological and energetic information. Come to understand your clients’ tension patterns and the most effective ways to use bodywork for their optimum psycho-physical benefit. Techniques will range from energetic applications of Deep Massage, Shiatsu, Zero Balancing, and Structural Bodywork.
National Certification & Clinical Review: 28 hrs
After covering all the modalities, review and apply your skills. Refine your hands-on work, revisit the clinical and integrative information, as well as prepare for the National Certification Exam.
Private Teaching Sessions: 8 hrs (Deep, Clinical, Integrative Massage and Zero Balancing)
This course includes four one-on-one private teaching sessions. These involve getting feedback on your practice of Deep Massage, Structural Bodywork, Zero Balancing, Energetic, Integrative and Advanced Clinical Massage Therapy. These sessions will provide you with a vastly greater refinement of your technical skill, touch quality, and clinical session design.
