About the Workshop:

Table Thai is an approved 12 CEU hour course in TX, AR and LA and also gives NCBTMB credits. This class is specifically designed to help licensed massage therapists learn how to use Thai massage on the massage table with ease. We go over easy-to-incorporate options from Robert Gardner's "Introduction to Thai Massage Workbook" and show you how to work effectively, using less hand strain while helping clients with back pain and other areas of chronic tension and pain.

In Table Thai we will show you how to incorporate this modality into your sessions. This work will allow you to cultivate a much higher level of body mechanics, working, when needed, more deeply with new methods to address clients' presenting complaints.  You will be guided through class with close table-side supervision.  We will create an open space for questions about massage applications, Thai massage and how to blend this healing art into your table work.

Although previous study of Thai Massage is welcomed, it is not required for this class.  First-time as well as veteran students are all welcome.

Learning Objectives:

  • Students will have a basic understanding of "sen" lines and how they are used in session.
  • Students will be able to incorporate Table Thai into their sessions seamlessly.
  • Students will be able to easily transition a client from prone to side lying to prone and back again depending on client needs.
  • Students will have a basic understanding of general contraindications of Table Thai for various medical conditions

About the Instructor:

Robert GardnerRobert Gardner is a licensed Thai massage instructor, therapist, and yoga teacher in Austin. He uses Thai massage, yoga therapy, and leads yoga classes to help his clients and students. He’s been practicing the healing arts for thirteen years and is excited to assist and educate people to stimulate their own healing.

He studied Swedish, deep tissue work, cranialsacral therapy, yoga and then Thai Massage. All of these are combined in his practice and inform his teaching.
