**Zero Balancing 1 & 2 are prerequisites.**

Dear Zero Balancers – I am excited to be coming back to Austin, Texas, and the Lauterstein-Conway School of Massage in October 2013. It has been a few years since being there and I really am looking forward to my time there. I will be presenting Alchemy of Touch.

The basic trilogy of Zero Balancing is Core ZB, Alchemy of Touch, and Geometry of Healing. In the Core program we teach the underpinnings of ZB, including the use of energy as a working tool. In Alchemy of Touch we teach how to amplify vibration in the body and how to work in high-energy fields. In Geometry of Healing we teach how to slow vibration and work with elements within the field itself and within the gap.

The focus of this year’s workshop is how to create and navigate higher energy fields and then put them to healing advantage for the client. One metaphor regarding Alchemy of Touch is that of cooking. When we turn up the heat in cooking, change begins to happen; when we put a lid on the pot, change becomes faster; when we lock down the lid and create a pressure cooker, things happen even faster. So it is in the body when, through touch, we create these different levels of energy, change not only happens faster in the body but also old resistant imprints may lessen and deep healings occur.

This program is apropos for any person who has completed Core ZB. In the course of empowering known fulcrums and presenting new ones, there is always some review of the basic foundational fulcrums. Everybody wins – your core ZBs will improve as you sharpen your basic skills, and new possibilities will open as you learn how to create and navigate amplified fields of energy. The hidden gems you will discover and the transformation of your work will surprise those of you who already do Alchemy of Touch.

I hope you are able to join us.

Fritz Frederick Smith, MD – Zero Balancing was developed in the early 1970’s by Fritz Frederick Smith, MD, a pioneer in the field of integrative medicine. A doctor of both osteopathy and medicine, Dr. Smith was always fascinated by the healing power of touch. During the late 1960s, Dr. Smith studied at Esalen in Northern California with many of the forerunners of the body/mind therapy movement, and became a Certified Rolfer. There he met J.R. Worsley of the Chinese College of Acupuncture in England whose demonstrations ‘cracked’ Dr. Smith’s beliefs in the purely Western medical model.  He was a member of the very first group of Americans trained in Five Element Acupuncture and was awarded his Master’s Degree in Acupuncture.  During this period he also began to explore yoga, meditation, spiritual teachings in India, Eastern energy medicine, and quantum physics.

Dr. Smith’s keen observations of, and experiences with, both anatomy and energy as a force in the body led him to develop the manual therapy system of Zero Balancing. Dr. Smith has been practicing and teaching Zero Balancing throughout the world for more than 40 years. He is the author of many articles, meditation CD’s, and two books, Inner Bridges: A Guide to Energy Movement and Body Structure and Alchemy of Touch: Moving Towards Mastery Through the Lens of Zero Balancing.
