Instructors in the Advanced Program:
David Lauterstein, TLC School Co-Director, has been in massage and bodywork practice since 1977 and has become one of the most highly respected international educators in the massage therapy realm. He is the recipient of the American Massage Therapy Association’s Jerome Perlinski 2012 Teacher of the Year Award and the Educator of the Year Award in 2013 from the Alliance for Massage Therapy Education. David regularly teaches in England and throughout the U.S since 1982. He is the author of the books, Putting the Soul Back in the Body: A Manual of Imaginative Anatomy for Massage Therapists and The Deep Massage Book: How to Combine Structure and Energy in Bodywork. He is certified in Structural Bodywork, Zero Balancing and is the founder of Deep Massage: The Lauterstein Method. He is a faculty member of the Zero Balancing Health Association. His background prior to massage therapy was in philosophy and music composition.
Jan Hutchinson, Physical Therapist and LMT – BS, MTI, CNMT, CZB graduated in March 1969 from the University of Minnesota with distinction in Physical Therapy. Her massage therapy training was completed at The Third Coast School of Massage Therapy and licensed in November 1986. Jan has been certified in Neuromuscular Therapy from Judith Walker in 1991 and in Zero Balancing from Dr. Fritz Smith in 2001. She is an advanced Massage Therapy Instructor and teaches courses in pathology, pharmacology, advanced deep tissue, myofascial release and postural analysis. After 20 years, Jan enjoys consulting with massage therapists actively problem-solving long-standing structural/musculoskeletal problems with their clients. She has had a private practice in Northwest Austin since 1992.
Cindy Anderson, LMT, MTI has been an enthusiastic student and practitioner of massage therapy since 1989. Cindy Anderson practices Swedish massage, chair massage, shiatsu, Thai yoga massage, pregnancy massage, lomi lomi, hot stone, deep massage, sports massage, and many advanced hydrotherapies. She has been a massage therapy instructor since 1991. Her passion for giving, receiving, learning, and teaching bodywork has also led her to study reflexology, jin shin jitsu, watsu and waterdance. She is also a certified Yoga Teacher.
Ted Kennett, ND, LMT, MTI did his initial massage training at The Austin Center for Wellbeing in 1992. Upon his completion of massage classes, Ted established Relax the World Massage in Westlake Hills, His continuing education has included the holistic healing series at The University of Texas School of Nursing, Parker Chiropractic Continuing Education, The Institute for Advanced Clinical Training in Boston, Sports Massage in Costa Mesa, California, cranio-sacral therapy through Upledger, myofascial release, trigger point, reflexology, structural integration, Active Isolated Stretching with Aaron Mattes, and Eric Dalton’s Myoskeletal Alignment Techniques. Ted finished his studies at Trinity College of Natural Health as a Naturopathic Doctor in 2008. Ted always gives thanks to each and every teacher, for their skills as therapist and teachers, since their dedication in the massage industry has influenced what he has to offer other therapists. Ted was Nationally Certified in 1993 and has been a School Based Massage Therapy Instructor since 1996. In 2008 with the help of his wife Debbie opened A New Beginning School of Massage Killeen, in Killeen, Texas.
