Professional massage in our Graduate Clinic is available Mondays at 12, 1:30, 3:00 and 4:30 and Friday at 4:30 and 6:00 pm. Visit our Graduate Clinic page for information about our professional massage clinic.
The February - April Scheduling Calendar includes both the student and professional appointments. It is available as a reference for scheduling by phone or may be completed and returned to the clinic by fax, mail or in person.
Illness Policy
Please do not come in for a massage when you are ill. Allow a minimum of 48 hours after recovering from a fever before receiving bodywork at Lauterstein-Conway. Call the clinic office at 453-2830 as early as possible to cancel or reschedule your appointment in order for us to either schedule another client or adjust the student's schedule.
Lauterstein-Conway Student Massage Clinic
$35 for a one-hour Student Massage. No tipping, in accordance with State law.
Texas law for Massage Therapy training requires all students to complete a 500-hour program, 450 classroom hours and 50 internship hours.
The professional massage training curriculum includes Swedish as well as Sports, Deep and Clinical Massage Therapy and Integrative Session Design. All training is built on a solid knowledge of anatomy, physiology and kinesiology.
- Swedish massage uses firm but gentle pressure to promote relaxation, reduce muscle tension and enhance circulation. Swedish massage is considered very safe for most people.
- Sports Massage uses advanced circulatory massage techniques to address overuse symptoms both athletes and non-athletes.
- Deep Massage at Lauterstein-Conway is based on the traditions of Rolfing, Zero Balancing and other advanced bodywork disciplines. It is based on the myofascial anatomy and offers the therapist a gentle approach to address deeper muscle layers.
- Clinical Massage Therapy addresses musculoskeletal problems for clients with specific complaints and injuries related to acute injury, poor posture, movement imbalances and/or life stresses.
Please check with your physician if you are not sure you are a good candidate for massage.
Over the course of a year the Student Internship Clinic schedule will vary slightly based on the level of training a class has reached and the size of the class. Smaller classes result in somewhat shorter hours and fewer appointments, larger classes necessitate longer clinic hours. There are also brief periods in which student appointments are not available.
