This workshop is perfect for the practitioner who wants to know, from an experiential point-of-view, how to use heat and cold in a clinical massage practice. The focus will be on readily available OTC and commercial aides that deliver hot and cold and their application during a treatment session.
Workshop participants should bring with them any devices or items they use during their sessions that enhance the hands-on care of a client.
Advanced Hydrotherapy will also explore the use of:
- contrast baths
- ice massage
- paraffin baths
Instructional sheets will be provided to participants to give out to clients. These instructional sheets will help clients apply at-home effectively follow up with the treatment.
Jan Hutchinson, LMT, MTI, PT,has been a massage therapist and teacher of soft tissue therapies for over twenty years. She is also a certified practioner of Neuromuscular Therapy and Zero Balancing, having studied with Fritz Smith since 1989.
